The joyous Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah celebrates the end of Sukkot. Today, Orthodox Jewish New Yorkers will remove the scrolls of the Torah from the ark and read them at night, marking the end of the reading cycle and the beginning of a new one. Conservative and Reform congregations are, more and more often, inviting female members to join the men in performing the Hakafot, a dance with the Torah. Chag Sameach!
