World Cancer Day
Each February 4th, the Empire State Building is traditionally lit up in orange and blue, the official colors of World Cancer Day. This international observance concentrates on programs that help people learn more about cancer, which has killed over 80 million people in the last decade. Learning efforts contribute to fighting cancer, identifying cancer, and of course preventing cancer. Throughout the year, there are many charity walks, both in New York and elsewhere, in which you may participate to help raise funds for the cause. Here is a good place to start.
