Beautiful New York

A Celebration of the City

Pentecost

05-24 PentecostSeven weeks after Easter, Christians (the most common religion in New York City) celebrate Pentecost, the day the Holy Spirit gave them “the gift of tongues”. In a city as linguistically diverse as New York, what could be more appropriate? Also celebrated by Jews (the city’s second most common religion) as Shavuot, the holiday also marks the giving of the law to the people on Mount Sinai.
