Beautiful New York

A Celebration of the City

New York Is… Plazas

05-17 PlazasIn a city that’s all about the go-go-go, it is important to have places to rest. And, in New York, there are grand plazas throughout town, where one can sit, read a paper, watch the symphony of humanity go by, commune with a fountain, or simply take it all in. Many plazas belong to their adjacent buildings, such as Lincoln Center or the Seagram Building, the Brooklyn Museum or the World Financial Center. Some are actually re-used streets, such as the plazas in Corona, Madison Square, Herald Square, and Willoughby Street. But all are designed for a pause and a scenic moment, when one can break from the hustle bustle of the New York minute.
