Shakespeare Garden

6 Shakespeare GardenFeaturing only plants that are mentioned in the plays and poetry of William Shakespeare, the Shakespeare Garden occupies four acres of hillside in the middle of Central Park. Dedicated in 1916, in honor of the 300th anniversary of the Bard’s death, the garden exhibits quotes on little brass plaques along its winding pathways. Charming benches and a sundial complete the cozy heath that is situated, appropriately, just five minutes to the southwest of the Delacorte Theatre, where Shakespeare in the Park performs every summer.
