Top 10 Greatest Public Fountains in NYC — #1
The Pulitzer Fountain
In front of the Plaza Hotel, just south of Central Park, stands the most beautiful fountain in New York City, donated by the great journalism magnate, Joseph Pulitzer. Under the bronze statue of Pomona, Roman Goddess of Abundance, water trickles like crystal shards from the stone basin. At night, the fountain is lit reflectively to offer new aesthetic dimension to both the glow of the stone and the glimmer of the water. A public art masterpiece if ever there was one.
