The Untermeyer Fountain

02-24 Untermeyer FountainIn the French section of Central Park’s stunning Conservatory Garden, the Untermeyer Fountain is a delicious symbol of unmitigated joy, thanks to Walter Schott’s 1910 bronze sculpture of Three Dancing Maidens.  The giddy German girls are perpetually bathed in a narrow spray from either side of the oval pool while a third shaft of water bubbles in the center of their dance.
